Rick Ferguson is a music composer who has a wealth of musical experience in the areas of classical, jazz, pop, film and television.  He has worked with top record labels and major recording artists. Warner Brothers, PolyGram Records, Capital Records, and Motown Records have published his compositions.

The Four Tops, Peabo Bryson, The Whispers, Nikita Germaine, Liza Minnelli, Ron Tyson of The Temptations, Jeanie Tracy and many others have recorded and performed his songs garnering both gold and platinum certifications.

​

Mr. Ferguson has also worked in theatrical productions composing, arranging and performing original musical works for such renown Playwrights as Ron Milner/Barry Hankerson (Executive Producers), (The Rhythm & The Blues) and Ed Bullins (Legacy) just to name a few.

His work has also been featured on television (PBS) and independent films with programming on both the east and west coasts.

​

When discussing those who have influenced his musical journey, Mr. Ferguson speaks with eloquent reverence and sincere appreciation for classical composers, contemporary arrangers, and legendary artists whose accomplishments have been a lighthouse in charting his musical path.

Mr. Ferguson is a music storyteller, a modern-day minstrel, who can tell a gripping story without the need for words or pictures. His piano performances and compositions reveal an artist whose is impassioned not only by his craft but moreover with sharing it with others.

One of Mr. Ferguson’s recent original musical compositions entitled: “The Coming”, composed for choral/orchestra performance, has caught the attention and interest of world-renowned conductor, Maestro Thomas Wilkins, (Resident Conductor of The Omaha Symphony Orchestra).

Mr. Ferguson’s music catalog was represented by the legendary publisher/Administrator, the late Billy Meshel, Chief Executive Officer of Music & Media International of Los Angeles, California. Mr. Meshel was the former President of Arista Music Publishing, and Columbia Pictures and Publishing, etc.  His catalog was also represented by Jay Warner, THE MUSIC GROUP and Jo-Ann Geffen of JAG Entertainment PR.
